Christmas craft ideas

Make your own decorations at Christmas.

I thought I would put up this Christmas Decoration and Paintbrush holder for you to see - something to keep you all busy this weekend if you fancy a bit of crafting.

The decoration is made from square pieces of cardstock folded into triangles and cut at angles. Each piece is then stuck together to form this decoration which, if made in white, resembles a snowflake. Iv'e made mine in various shades of red and added an embellishment in the middle to give a bit of Christmas sparkle.

The Paint brush holder is a recycled crisp tube (I did eat all the crisps in one go just so I could use the tube you understand!)

The tube was covered in  fabric paper with glittered leaves and tissue flowers added to decorate the front. Somewhere for all my paintbrushes now so no excuse to leave them lying around the house.

Decorated tubes have lots of uses, especially in childrens' rooms and might just encourage them to tidy up too if they make one for themselves. It's good to recycle things too.

  Happy crafting.

Canvasses for Christmas

Decorate a Canvas for Christmas

Iv'e started decorating canvasses now for Christmas - you can use them as presents or just to decorate the house with a Christmas theme.

This canvas was created for my next demo at Otter Nurseries for their Craft Evening on 5th December from 5p.m. I'll be making Christmas Decorations, Canvasses, gifts including earrings in boxes and much more....

I have used Artiste paints, chipboard shapes, embossing powders, outline stickers, and hand-drawn holly leaves for this piece.

Come along if you are in the area to take a look - there are a few demo's going on including knitting too.  I'll also be demonstrating how to paint your own Christmas Cards the easy way.

This second canvas was made using Artiste Crackle glaze and paints. I also used some pretty serviettes that I had lying around the house. (I'm a great one for recycling).

You can add any picture to a canvas using serviettes.
After you have painted the canvas  just add a thin layer of glue to the canvas then carefully position your chosen picture cut out from a serviette over the top and add another layer of glue. I used PVA glue - you also need to varnish the piece too if you want to keep it wipeable and it makes the whole piece a little more secure as well.

Happy crafting.

"Triple Trees" Christmas Project on the " WoW" blog

Triple Embossed and Glittered Christmas Tree Card -

Iv'e created this Christmas Card with a difference - you can use the Trees as Christmas decorations as each one has a wire hanger attached.

I'm entering the Pan Pastel Blog Challenge with this card as their theme for this week is Red and Green. I can't wait to use Pan Pastels soon - they look so versatile - must send a letter to Father Christmas!

I used a slightly different method to product these trees - go to the "WoW" blog here to see how this card was made.

I love all the variety that "WoW" bring us with their powders. There are 4 new sets of powders out now too called - Girls Night Out - Desert Sands
Sugar and Spice and  Caribbean Jewels

Check out the WoW shop (link from the blog) to see the lovely range that they have

Keep watching this blog - Free Digi Stamp coming soon.      Happy crafting.

My projects at the NEC WoW Embossing Powders Stand

My Projects will be on display at the "WoW" Embossing Powders Stand at the NEC from 8th until 11th November.

As a Designer for "WoW" I get to play with all the lovely products and boy do they produce some lovely embossing powders. The colours are amazing and so much variety. They also produce moulds now so you can add dimension to your projects too. If you are at the NEC it's definitely worth going along and taking a look and also watching some of the Demonstrations.

Unfortunately due to other commitments I couldn't make it to Demonstrate for WoW Embossing Powders on their stand this year. I have pre-booked demonstrations elsewhere and functions to go to on 10th and 11th (Rememberance Sunday).
My projects are still on the stand though. I have made a few cards, wall hangings, canvases including a sea-scape which are on display.

I love the powders and they have a lovely new range out at the moment. Click here to access the WoW blog and details of products and projects from all the the WoW Designers.

This Saturday, 10th November, I have a demo at Otter Nurseries and Santa is also coming along at 10.00 am  to say hello to all the kiddies.

Iv'e made a few projects for everyone to see and will be demonstrating how they are all made so please come along and join in the fun.  I used the Craft Planet Goody Bags plus one or two other bits and pieces to make the projects.

They range from Big shot die cut Christmas Trees, Sparkly hanging stars, bugs and spiders, a very hungry caterpillar, beads and bracelets made from pipecleaners and much,  much more.  I've had so much fun making all the projects and will definitely be making more childrens' crafts in future. Such Fun......
