Docrafts Monday project - Flowers from Tissue paper

Hi everyone

For my #docraftsmonday project Iv'e made some Tissue flowers from Craft Planet Tissue and the new Christmas Tissue available in shops from 1st July.

These poppies are easy to make - just cut out some Die cut circles, cover a BBQ stick with docrafts craft tape - stick a bead on the top to stop the tissue falling off. This also adds a centre to your flower.

Thread on the tissue papers and scrunch up each layer to make a flower. So easy and quite effective - Iv'e made them all one colour and added some spritz inks to colour some of the poppies. You could vary the colours to make the flowers varigated too.

Another Commission "Castle Combe" pen and ink drawing

"Castle Combe" ink drawing.

I love the look monochrome look and pen and ink drawings fit in so well with any decor in the home.

This picture is of "Castle Combe" - a beautiful village in Wiltshire used a lot for films and adverts due to its quaint houses and bridge and a favourite for painters - Iv'e captured it in pen and ink.  This picture was a commission I had.  Castle Combe is so pretty, especially this time of year.  Close by is Lacock where they filmed some scenes from Pride and Predudice amongst other dramas. Again worth a visit if you are up that way on your travels.

More crafting to come soon.............

Next Talk and Demo- "Recycled Crafts" at Honiton Craft Club

Honiton Craft Club 25th June 10.a.m. - 12. noon." RECYCLED CRAFTS"

For this demo I chose Recycled crafts - I'm constantly looking at all my crafty bits and pieces and the items I have at home and wondering how to alter them.  So when I took down this old horrible window blind I thought  the material was too good to just throw away so it ended up.......

                                           From this:

To this:

A little sewing and Sparkle Medium later (about 2 hours) I had a new shopping bag or swimming bag as it's made of some strange material that feels like it's waterproof so great for my wet cossy after swimming or those frozen bits from the shopping .

Why not take a look around your house and see what you could alter.

My Inspiration Post for Imagination Crafts June Challenge

IMAGINATION CRAFT INSPIRATION POST - FELT BAG.

Hi all

This is my Inspiration post for Imagination Crafts - a bag which is two-sided made of Felt.

This little bag can be used either side - one side white and the other purple.

Iv'e added Sparkle Medium to Felt using two different colours. The handle is made with Baker's twine and wool plaited together to create a handle. Iv'e also Die Cut some leaves to embellish the bag.

Jewellery was added to give it a bit of extra bling.

Easy to make and quite quick too.

Firstly I cut out two scalloped circles with a Die Cutting Machine then painted both with the Ivy Imagination Crafts Stencil, Amethyst Sparkle Medium on white felt then Silver Sparkle Medium onto the purple felt.  When dry I stiched them together leaving an apeture at the top.

I then plaited some Baker's twine with wool and added this to the to of the bag at either side.

Die Cut leaves were added and a jewellery embellishment so that the bag can be used both ways around.

Great for a little girl to put all her personal bits and pieces in or, one to make for a friend.  It doesn't involve much sewing at all and is easy to put together; You could embelllish it with lots of different things like flowers, jewellery, ready-made embellishments etc.

I love these Indigo Blue Stamps

Iv'e been playing with backgrounds this week and have used the Indigo Blue (Cover stamps  pack) supplied with the Craft magazine to create a couple of cards.

These cards were very quick and easy to make - just blending with inks and spritzing plus embossing the image and adding adhesive gems. So easy but quite effective.

Indigo Blue Stamps

Here's a quick card I made with the Indigo Blue Stamps from a Craft magazine (Cover pack) I purchased a few weeks' ago.

The background was painted and then stamped over. I spritzed inks with mica in on the background and sentiment too to add a little sparkle.

More to come soon....

All That Glitters - Imagination Crafts June Project

Hello again

For this month's project the theme is "All That Glitters" - this theme is great as you can do almost anything with Sparkle Medium for that glittery finish.

Iv'e used the Ivy Stencil here to create both the background and foreground for this card plus added a new technique to colour the Butterfly. The background was stencilled with Diamond Sparkle Medium through the Ivy Stencil and the foreground I stencilled some purple ink through the stencil.

Any embellishment can be coloured with Sparkle Medium. - To colour the Butterfly I dabbed Sparkle Medium with a stencil brush onto the image and this coloured the whole embellishment. I was then left with an outline which I could cut out and use again on another card.

Next, I stamped a Best Wishes using Silkies so that the greeting sparkled.  I also spread some air-drying clay into leaf and flower moulds and when dry, I painted them with Silkies too.

To finish, I added two inked flourishes to either side.  This card could be used for any occasion. More to come soon.  Why not join in the Challenge and if you use any Imagination Craft products you could be in with a chance to win £40 worth of goodies.
